Backgrounds and Training
Put Your Trust In Us

Having a caregiver in your home — bathing, dressing, and preparing meals — it’s important that we match you with a caregiver who understands and respects this responsibility.
You can trust that your Sunny Days In-Home Care caregiver has your best interests at heart. Many of our caregivers have decades of senior care experience, and some are Certified Nursing Assistants. Many also hold Home Health Aid (HHA) certifications, and we offer incentives to caregivers who complete their HHA certification.
Every caregiver we employ:
- Has cleared a background check.
- Has been tested for tuberculosis, is recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control for healthcare workers.
- Is knowledgeable and continually trained in HIPAA medical privacy compliance.
Ongoing Training for Caregivers

Continuing education for those providing home care ensures that caregivers have the most up-to-date information and skills to care for their clients. Initial training for each caregiver is designed on an individual basis depending on the client’s needs. For example, if our client needs to be moved into special lifting equipment for transfer between a bed and wheelchair, we ensure that the caregiver understands the proper procedure and safety considerations for such a transfer.
All Sunny Days caregivers must complete annual training that covers a variety of topics. Additionally, we host quarterly in-person training sessions to foster more intensive training and allow our caregivers the opportunity to connect, talk, and share best practices.
We also provide training for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance, which ensures that caregivers understand their legal obligation to maintain client privacy.
