David spent most of his career in sales, primarily working in marketing for home healthcare agencies. Over the years, he grew increasingly frustrated as he witnessed a trend of companies offering subpar services, driven more by profit motives than a genuine culture of care. David strongly believes that everyone deserves the best care possible, and this conviction ultimately led him to open the doors of Sunny Days In-Home Care in February 2011. In those early days, David was the company’s first caregiver, working tirelessly around the clock to care for clients and understand their needs, all while managing the day-to-day operations of the business. Essentially, he was a one-man operation for several months. Eventually, David asked his wife, Evelyn, to leave her full-time job and join him. Together, they built a strong partnership, and today they continue to provide exceptional healthcare services to seniors in need of in-home care. From day one, the Ellenwoods have remained steadfast in their client-centered approach to senior care.

Before joining Sunny Days, Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper for various companies in the Western PA area. Though her role was behind the scenes, her expertise has been critical to the success of the business. Both David and Evelyn come from humble beginnings, and they credit their achievements to their faith in God, their devotion to family, and their genuine love for helping people. When they’re not focused on improving Sunny Days, they cherish time spent with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
